The Production Supervisor provides leadership and overall shift management which includes adherence to Safety and Quality policies/procedures, staff management (scheduling, annual evaluations, employee discipline, training, certifications, and career planning), production schedules are followed, and team productivity is met. Additionally, the Production Supervisor will ensure accuracy in all documentation and Oracle inputs (raw material usage, batch ticket completion, and yielding).

Job duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for supporting and maintaining Food Safety and Quality programs.

  • Ensure that all personnel have been adequately trained to perform the functions on the production lines.

  • Collaborate with Production Leads to resolve product quality issues.

  • Daily verification of the production schedule and sequencing of the schedule to ensure maximum output from all production lines.

  • Responsible for the gathering and sharing of pass-down information with the oncoming shift.

  • Ensure that all process parameters are followed accurately and that the staff has a clear understanding of the process controls and specs.

  • Complete first article inspections on all production runs.

  • Confirm that accurate quantities, lot codes, and part numbers being used and recorded on all Batch Tickets and entered into Oracle properly at the end of every shift including any downtime and or equipment issues, raw material usage and any other information needed to complete the batch tickets.

  • Partner with Production Line Leads to ensure customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery are met.

  • Complete all tasks in Performance Management programs and HR documents including annual evaluations and employee performance documentation.

  • Take responsibility for all production documents including MCP’s, Specs, and quality documents to ensure the accuracy of the documents and ensure that all products leaving the Cereal department meet both the quality requirements and the spec requirements of the customers.

  • Sign off all quality sheets that are completed by the production staff in a timely manner and have them turned into the QA department by the next morning.

  • Work with Leads and all production staff to bring up any new production lines and ensure that the production staff is thoroughly trained and that all new documents for the production lines are made available to all staff.

  • Ensure the accuracy of the information in Oracle/SAP including raw material usage, batch ticket completion, yielding and or any other pertinent data.

  • Administer disciplinary action as required on shift.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

  • Production / Warehouse setting

  • Dusty, with wide temperature variations

  • Exposure to forklift traffic and working in tight quarters

  • Sitting at a work station for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience.

  • 2 years production leadership experience.

  • Able to work with minimal supervision, and under short deadlines.

  • Food manufacturing experience highly preferred but not required.
