The Quality Assurance Technician (QA Tech) is responsible for ensuring food safety and food quality by working in partnership with the shift supervisor. The successful candidate will perform changeover inspections, pre-operational inspections, auditing of in process QC checks, and will train shift personnel on food quality and food safety practices and procedures. The QA Tech will also investigate product holds and determine immediate disposition, where appropriate. Other tasks include investigating customer complaints, conducing facility inspections, completing finished product reviews, and auditing production and sanitation processes.
The ideal candidate will also have strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, time management and organizational skills, will be highly motivated, self-directed and accountable, and will have the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff across the organization.

This position is on a rotating 12hr schedule - and we currently have 3rd shift positions available.
Job duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Audit production QC (Quality Control) inspections and data
Audit product startup
Sign off on first article of production
Review production QC (Quality Control) paperwork, and verify that its accurate and complete.
Perform in-line product inspection
Perform QC checks: Granulation, Moisture, Weights, Fruit Counts, Oxygen/Nitrogen, Bag and Carton Seal Checks, Date Code, and Label Date Code.
Conduct regular audits on weight, date and label codes, and glass and brittle plastics.
Conduct fruit count on harder items.
Conduct sanitation inspections.
Conduct ATP and environmental swabbing.
Inspect finished goods
Responsible for supporting and maintaining Food Safety and Quality programs as it relates to this position.
Eugene products and production processes
CFR Title 21 Part 110 (current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in manufacturing, packaging, and holding of Human Food))
Food Safety principles as these apply in production, for example. HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point), cGMP, Allergen Control
Observing physical surrounding with a keen eye towards variance from the ordinary
Capability in performing simple mathematical calculations
Highly detail oriented in work performance and documentation
Organization and time management
Diplomacy when interacting with all staff
Decision making at stated level of authority
Use of SharePoint as document library and action item list
Oracle/Discoverer queries for complaint and hold investigations
Working in a fast paced environment
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Proficiency in: MS Office Suite, Oracle/SAP, and Sharepoint
- Work is done primarily in a production environment which includes noise, dust, moving machinery, forklifts, and fluctuations in temperature.
Stand, walk, climb stairs on a frequent basis
Must be able to lift 20 pounds on an infrequent basis.
High school diploma; college training in math or science preferred
Minimum of one (1) plus years in a laboratory or related inspection work
Experience in a production/manufacturing environment
