POSITION SUMMARY

Loads flats of eggs into the Pasteurizer tank; Must haul out racks, stack, tie, and pick up all material neatly in the proper amounts and heights. Must be able to follow all of the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements and safety procedures. Responsible for spraying down and cleaning up the equipment and floor in order to meet the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) specifications. Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Makes sure that the area around the machines being loaded is clean and neat.

  • Must haul out racks; stack, tie, and pick up all material neatly in the proper amounts and heights.

  • Takes care of all of the eggs stuck to the flats.

  • Removes the empty flats from the flat stacker.

  • Lifts flats from above the head and below the knees onto the loader.

  • Places a blue flat on top of the orange flats to secure the eggs as they go into the tank.

  • Checks the temperature of the tanks and makes sure that all flats are completely underwater.

  • Times how long the flats are in the tanks and moves the racks back and forth.

  • Must dump the inedible buckets from the machines being loaded after the end of shift clean up.

  • Before going to break, responsible for cleaning up entire work area.

  • Must be able to follow all of the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements and safety procedures.

  • Must be able to follow all of the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) procedures; “washing hands, etc.” throughout the day.

  • Must be able to follow all of the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines.

  • Responsible for spraying down and cleaning up the equipment and floor in order to meet the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) specifications .

  • Adheres to safe work practices, following GMP’s, maintaining sanitary conditions, and ensuring that product quality is maintained. Reports to management if any conditions or practices may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.

  • Able to perform other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Capable of standing on a hard surface for most of the shift.

  • Available to work weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule.

  • Ability to read and understand operating procedures.

  • Capability of repeatedly lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work in damp, humid, and warm environments.

  • Capable of climbing steps and ladders in order to perform specific tasks.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with others to complete work assignments.

  • Open to change.

  • Able to work independently and with others in a team environment.

  • Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction.

  • Displays responsible behavior at work.
