Job Summary:

Our Packaging Utility role is a valuable support position for our organization. As a Packaging Utility, you can expect to spend most of your time operating our fast moving A Totes or B Totes machines, supporting regrind functions, or through acting as a support role for our Machine Operators. You will also assist on the packaging line, hand pack product as needed, assist in waste removal, at times partner with our Sanitation Utilities to clean and sanitize packaging machines on our production floor. These are 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule from 3 am - 3 pm or 3 pm - 3am.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Operate the banding and weighing area of the A Totes machine OR work the bottom area of the A Totes machine by building and taping totes according to upcoming orders and customer specifications

  • Perform regrind functions for the facility; this includes labeling totes according to standard operating procedures and regulations, using a pallet jack to transfer regrind product to appropriate area, and using a computer-based system to process regrind back into production

  • Assists machine operators in operating semi-automatic case packaging systems, and loading/unloading of cartons and corrugate on an as needed basis

  • Performs hand casing/packing of various sizes of retail and food service items, when needed

  • Assists machine operators and sanitation utilities in performing in-depth cleaning of assigned equipment

  • Utilize machinery to create corrugated bales. Hauls trash and corrugate when needed.

  • Other duties, as assigned

Required Education And Experience:

  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and overtime

Preferred Education, Experience, And Skills :

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Previous manufacturing or packaging experience
