Maintenance employees work on all mechanical and equipment issues, preventative maintenance and minor electrical repairs as needed. S/he needs to know and understand the function and construction of the equipment and machine foundation and operation. S/he will communicate regularly with employees and management on equipment status.


  • Knows and understands the function and construction of the machine’s foundation.

  • Troubleshoots plant equipment.

  • Completes mechanical repairs on plant equipment.

  • Completes minor electrical repairs as needed.

  • Performs preventative maintenance (PMs).

  • Adheres to safe work practices, following GMP’s, maintaining sanitary conditions and ensuring that product quality is maintained. Reports to management if any conditions or practices may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.

  • Able to perform other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.


  • Effective communication skills.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Able to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

  • Can accurately read a tape measure and perform basic mathematic operations.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Must be able to work safely with chemicals.

  • Must be able to obtain LOTO, Confined Space and Respiratory training.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with others to complete work assignments.

  • Able to work independently and with others in a team environment.

  • Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction.

  • Ability to read blue prints and simple wiring schematics.

  • Able to use hand and power tools correctly.

  • Able to work weekend days.

  • Willing and able to work holidays on a rotating schedule and added hours when needed.
