POSITION SUMMARY:

Allocates and spots all trailers for unloading and loading..

Coordinates getting trailers to the shop area for pre-trip inspection and repairs.

Responsible to verify that all trailers are washed properly for loading.

Must weigh trailers when loaded. Starts trailer reefer units.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Allocates and spots all trailers for unloading and loading.

  • Coordinates getting trailers to the shop area for pre-trip inspection and repairs.

  • Verifies all trailers are washed properly for loading.

  • Weighs trailers when loaded. Starts trailer reefer units.

  • Ensures security of the lot.

  • Reports areas in the lot that need repaired.

  • Routinely checks reefer temperatures on loaded trailers.

  • Secures trailer doors.

  • Adheres to safe work practices, follows GMP’s, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • OTR/Class A CDL license

  • Tanker endorsement

  • Must meet company and D.O.T. driving requirements.

  • Must be able to safely spot and back trailers in to very tight areas ensuring no damage is done to equipment or facilities.

  • Must be a good defensive driver.

  • Must have required knowledge and experience on operation of freezer units.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.

  • Able and willing to travel to go to multiple locations.

  • Computer experience – helpful.
